Love Spell is an acrylic 24 x 36 x .5 inch abstract painting on gessoboard in my 2023 series, Dreams. Silvia Federici, the noted ecofeminist, hypothesizes that capitalism and technology have disenchanted our relationship with the cosmos in order to make it more exploitable.

Science-fiction’s fascination with space-flight, as well as commercial endeavors to put people in space, often overlook the dystopic realities of space colonization: it’s a plan B for when the Earth has become inhabitable.

Love Spell seeks to re-enchant our relationship with the cosmos, and in doing so, urge us to fight for that which we love the most.
